That’s really cool. We have old locomotives and train cars out here from the 1880s. Some of them are still running and you can ride them in the summertime. We have the largest steam locomotive shop in the USA here in Albuquerque. It’s now the Rail Yards railroad museum. A lot of movies have been filmed in it. Steam locomotives were serviced into the early 1960s at the Rail Yards, then it was abandoned when the railroads switched to the diesel-electric locomotives. My neighbor, who retired from the railroad, started as an aprentice machinist working on steam locomotives at the Rail Yards in 1958, when he was 19 years old.
